9:15-9:30 p.m. total time: 15 min.
This evening, I made the PowerPoint slideshow for my lighthouse. I wanted to put in sounds of me and make it fully automatic and narrated. That didn’t work out. But I did put in sound effects. I put in pictures of me working on it. And it come to be. Captain’s Log 3

6:45-6: p.m. total time: 10 min.
I went shopping for supplies today. I went to Hobby Lobby. I didn’t find a model lighthouse kit like I had hoped, but I found other supplies. I also found a nice molded island for it. We were all over the store. Now I had the guts of my lighthouse.

This evening I completed Stage 1 of building my lighthouse. It consisted of drilling, painting and gluing. The base got drilled and the lighthouse got painted and glued together. I worked with my dad. He’s a good helper. Now the lighthouse is halfway done.

This evening I completed stage 2 of building. This was my final stage. It consisted of more painting, gluing, and we put the key component into it. We glued the lighthouse to the base and put in a switch. Now we could control it. The lighthouse was almost complete.

2:40-3:15 p.m. total time: 35 min.
Today was work day at school. I downloaded my PowerPoint from my flash drive to the computer at school. Then I printed the slides. One copy in color, and one in grayscale. This full version, as you can see, is in the grayscale one. I took pictures of myself working on my PowerPoint. That’s about it.

7:00-7:05 p.m. total time: 5 min.
This evening I turned the lighthouse on. It was after work day, and I was doing some last minute tweaks. I fiddled with the light, glued on the trademark star, and basically put it all together. At first it didn’t lock in place. But some awesome blade work fixed that. The Star of America was alive at last! Photos!
